“Missing, Not Forgotten”

Crime Stoppers of Lufkin wants your help locating Lettie and John Fisher of Polk County and bringing to close the five-month-long investigation into their disappearance.

Around 11:00 AM on September 19, 2011, 79-year-old Lettie Fisher and 31-year-old John Fisher Jr., Lettie’s son, were seen on security cameras leaving a doctor’s appointment at Memorial Medical Center in Lufkin.  At the Fisher’s home in western Polk County, investigators found what appears to be the clothes Lettie and John were wearing when they left the hospital.  The clothes and witness accounts led investigators to believe that the two returned home and changed clothes before leaving again.

On September 22, the Fisher’s vehicle, a 1999 Toyota 4 Runner, was found at BA Steinhagen Lake in Tyler County; a Magnolia Ridge State Park employee reported that the vehicle had been abandoned at the entrance of the park since September 19.  Lettie’s husband said that Lettie and John frequently fished in this area.

Law enforcement and volunteers conducted an extensive search but did not locate the Fisher’s or evidence to indicate where they went.

Lettie Marshall Fisher is a 5-foot, 3-inch tall black female weighing 148 pounds, and John Edward Fisher Jr. is a 5-foot, 8-inch tall black male weighing 240 pounds.  John has a prosthetic left leg and walks with a limp.

If you can provide information concerning the Fisher’s disappearance, call Crime Stoppers of Lufkin at (936) 639-TIPS or submit an anonymous tip at www.LufkinCrimeStoppers.com.  You never have to give your name and Crime Stoppers may pay a cash reward for information that assists this investigation.
