Amber Alert Cancelled: Joseph Lester Found, Baby Ok (Washington)
An Amber Alert out of Tacoma, Washington was cancelled after a man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and kidnapping their daughter turned himself in. Joseph Lester surrendered with the 9 month old baby at Good Samaritan Hospital outside of Tacoma early Tuesday morning. He was then arrested and taken to jail. The laughing and smiling little girl was in good health and was turned over to Child Protective Services. Lester’s car was found abandoned a few hours before he turned himself in. UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — A woman was stabbed and her 9-month-old girl kidnapped on Monday evening. Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said the woman was found dead at a duplex in the 6000 block of 57th Ave. W. The victim’s child could not be found, and investigators believe the child was abducted by his father, Joseph A. Lester, who is the victim’s ex-boyfriend.
