One Baton Rouge family is on a mission to find their loved one. Tameka “Kesha” Anderson has been missing for six days. Her family has hit the streets of Ascension Parish and Baton Rouge handing out flyers and spreading the word.

“We’re left in the dark,” said Ashleigh Anderson, Tameka’s older sister.” “We don’t know what’s going on.”We don’t have answers. We don’t know if she’s dead or alive. All we can do is pray for the best and prepare for the worst. And it hurts.”

Anderson says it’s even more painful looking at her two nephews, knowing their mother has not been seen or heard from in nearly one week.

Police say Anderson left her home the morning of February 23rd. She went to Telco Federal Credit Union on Wooddale Boulevard and took out $1,000 cash.

Anderson’s family says she then went to Galvez with a friend to buy a car she desperately wanted. That car was never purchased.

“She did not bring anything with her,” said Frankie Smith, Anderson’s aunt. “If she was not planning on coming back she would have took cloths and her phone charger. She didn’t even have the phone charger with her.”

Smith says her niece’s disappearance doesn’t make any sense. Around this time six years ago, her family was dealt another painful blow.

“This month on the 14th on February 14th, my sister died and now my niece is missing on the 23rd and it’s hard on the family,” said Smith.

Smith believes Anderson is being held against her will. She says she’s trying to keep the fear out and her faith in.

Anderson’s boyfriend says their youngest son, at nearly two-years-old is crying out for “momma” and her 11-year-old is having nightmares.

“They don’t suspect foul play, but my niece would never leave her children,” said Smith. “She would never leave her children.”

Don Kelly with the Baton Rouge Police Department says even though they do not have any concrete evidence that supports foul play, they do believe her disappearance is unusual.

If you have any information about Tameka Anderson’s whereabouts call Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP.
