According to the NCIC (National Crime Information Center) Missing Person Report for 2010, there were a total of 692,944 entries (as of December 31, 2011).
Of that number, blacks made up of 33% of the missing (229,736).
As of January 26, 2012, an NCIC offline search for BAMBNF shows that there were a total of 679,996 entries.
Of that number, blacks made up of 33% of the missing (229,683), a slight decrease.
BAMBNF also found that as of January 26, 2012, there were 29,917 total active cases.
Of those cases, blacks made up of 40% of the missing (11,982). That is a number that is not being represented in mainstream media.
*There may be many more missing blacks: there are a total of 1706 active cases whose race is unknown.
A study of Amber Alerts from Jan 1, 2010- Dec 31, 2010 found out of a total of 173 Amber Alerts, 30% of the alerts were for black children (compared with 47% of whites)
